Hi! My name is Elizabeth and I have been a daycare
provider for over 10 years. I got into the family child care business when I
suddenly became a single mother of a 6 months old baby boy. At that point I had
no job or education that can help support my new life with my baby. My aunt,
who had been a preschool teacher for over 20 years suggested we start a group
family day care in which I can be her assistant. This way I was able to work
and care for my baby. Operating an in-home daycare is no joke there was so much
to do and so much to know that the few required training did not cut it so I
went back to school. I quickly acquired my GED and immediately enrolled in
college for Early Childhood Education associate degree. One thing led to
another and now I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, more than 200
hours in NYS required training and over 10 years of experience as a director,
head, teacher, and a business owner that changes poopie diapers, cleans
boogies, kisses booboos and teaches social emotional development while
conducting fun and awesome activities!
